The relaxed yet professional atmosphere of our classrooms trains children in important life skills such as responsibility, persistence, teamwork and kindness. Here at MCA, our teachers are dedicated to helping each child succeed academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We offer a safe, creative, motivational learning environment that allows each student to achieve their best. With quality curriculum the teachers provide excellent instruction for the whole child: body, soul and spirit.
There are two elements of quality instruction in the Christian School: The quality teachers and a quality curriculum. Quality instruction begins with quality teachers. Our quality teachers think and teach from a Christ-centered scripture based worldview. Their example of lifestyle, rooted and grounded in Christ, imprints students’ hearts and minds. MCA teachers are well versed in different methods of instruction, learning modalities, and classroom management. Our teachers are dedicated to helping each child succeed in achieving the curricular goals and objectives of their grade and class. Secondly, our teachers have a quality curriculum at their disposal to teach effectively. The curriculum, in conjunction with our ESLR’s (Expected School-wide Learning Results), encourage students to develop a Christian view of God, humanity, and the world.
School Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3pm
In addition to the classroom instruction, we also offer:
Marin Christian Academy has identified computer technology as a priority for our students. We are partnering with BEYOND Technology Education to make your child more successful. Integrating technology into the curriculum is needed to maximize learning in the classroom. Children will learn Print Shop, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, Publisher, Word and basic hardware skills.
We offer an innovative Recorders Class for all 2nd-5th graders. Children learn the basics of music theory, the importance of practicing and character building. Caitlyn Christie is a graduate from UC Irvine with a major in music performance and a minor in music education. This is a fabulous opportunity for the children to maintain a creative outlet.
Guitar is designed to introduce our 4th & 5th graders to basic and intermediate styles of guitar playing. The fundamentals of what is learned will and can be applied to other instruments that the students may choose to learn in the future. Jonathan Jimmerson is finishing his Master’s degree at Golden Gate Theological Seminary where he also taught one semester of guitar. Currently Jonathan is teaching guitar at College of Marin. This class is fun and educational!
